The inaugural School of Languages Spanish Study

The inaugural School of Languages Spanish Study tour was held from the 8th to the 30th of April this year.

27 students from the School of Languages, OpenAccess College, Nuriootpa, Glossop and Waikerie High Schools took part in a three week intensive language and culture course in the cities of Salamanca, Seville and Granada, with weekend excursions to Madrid, Cádiz and Jerez.

Students engaged in 4 hours of Spanish study every morning and two hours of cultural activities each evening. Cultural activities included museums,cathedrals, city tours, historical walks, Spanish cinema and much more.

Highlights for the students were La Alhambra in Granada, Plaza de España in Seville, the Ieronimus Tower in Salamanca and the Picasso exhibition in the Reina Sofía Museum of Modern Art.

Such was the success of the tour, the School of Languages will be travelling to Spain again in 2017.

Next year we will be studying in Salamanca and Granada and travelling to Madrid and Seville as weekend tours.
